Gary Cohen

A young promising striker, capable of playing on the left and right flanks as well. Previously with Watford, Scarborough, Workington Town and Gretna before moving to Grimsby.

Cohen never made the first team at Watford, and chances were non-existent at Vicarage Road. After 1 year with the London club, he was signed by Russell Slade while he was at Scarborough. The London-born youngster only made 7 appearances at the McCain Stadium, with 2 goals scored.

In July 2003 Cohen was signed by Scottish Third Division club Gretna on a free transfer. He went on to make 29 appearances in his first season, scoring 1 goal. The following season saw Cohen loaned to Unibond Premier Division side Workington Town, where he netted over 20 goals in that season.

With Gretna still keen on owning him, he was loaned out for the entire 05/06 season by an eager Russell Slade, loving the thought of having one of his old players back, improved and sharper. However towards the end of the year Cohen became a free transfer.

The new season brought disaster for Cohen as he spent the entire season out injured on the sideline, and with that in mind Alan Buckley released him in May 2007.
