McCann Wait For Groves!

PAUL Groves will have to wait for at least a week before he knows if West Ham's Grant McCann will be able to join the Mariners on loan.

The Grimsby Telegraph revealed today that Glenn Roeder is concerned about losing the player until January, which he will, under the new loan rules.

"I've spoken to Glenn but it's pending on their situation." Said Groves. "That would be further down the line now and it won't happen before Saturday. Most Premiership clubs are trying to sift through their squads and see what they have got and what they haven't got."

"It's close to our season but theirs is still 10 days away."

But Hammers boss, Roeder, said he will think long and hard before allowing McCann to join the Mariners. "I don't like the new transfer window. Under the old system I could loan a player out for a month and then bring him back if I need to."

"If I let him go now I know I will not see him again until January and so I have to think about that decision and what it will mean to the club."
