Town Sign Midfield Pair

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 08/01/2009

GRIMSBY have signed two Championship midfielders on loan for a month to bring the total number of on loan players at Blundell Park to six. Charlton's Dean Sinclair and Doncaster's Stuart Elliot have both agreed initial one-month deals at Blundell Park.

Elliot is a left-sided midfielder who can also play up front, and Sinclair is a central midfielder.

24-year-old Sinclair joined Cheltenham on loan in mid-August and his two starts with the Robins were both 4-0 defeats to Oldham Athletic and Leicester.

Sinclair was signed by then Addicks boss Alan Pardew from Barnet for a £125,000 development fee in the summer of 2007. Sinclair came through the ranks at Norwich City and played twice for the first team, making his debut at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium on February 23rd, 2003.

30-year-old Elliot has played three times this season for Doncaster, with his last appearance being that of a substitute in the 1-0 home defeat by Wolves last month.

Elliot joined Rovers permanently from Hull City in the summer.
