Hope Leaves Blundell Park

CENTRAL defender Richard Hope has had his contract with Grimsby annulled. The former Wrexham defender was signed by Alan Buckley in the summer, but has hardly featured in the squad after the first few games of the season.
The 31-year-old has suffered from injuries and lack of fitness during his time at Blundell Park.
Grimsby's squad is several players larger than it needs to be and Hope may be the first of a trickle of players to leave Blundell Park in the remaining weeks of the season.
Grimsby's squad has changed so much this season that the only player to start the Bradford game who also started the first two games of the season is goalkeeper Phil Barnes.
Before Saturday's game with Exeter thirty players have so far played for Grimsby this season.
