"No disrespect to the likes of Grimsby..."

Four Places We're Unlikely To Visit Next Season

From a Sunderland Fanzine

"Apart from Blundell Park being a complete and utter shit hole, its team being about as appealing to watch as a naked weekend with Johnny Vegas and their town being full of inhabitants that look like they want to touch you, there's nothing too much wrong with Grimsby Town Football Club. However, Grimsby is one of the country's biggest fishing ports, which could pose a bit of a problem. So much is its status as the UK's Mackerel Mecca, it's home to the National Fishing Heritage Centre. As well as getting its fair share of haddock and cod, there'll be a stupid amount of prawns knocking about. Can you see the king of the prawn sandwiches spending the afternoon there? Nah, me neither. "

Estonia

From BBC Radio One

In the build up to the Estonia v England game.

The ground in Tallinn is very small, accommodating only 10,000 people. That is about the same size as League two's Grimsby Town.

Norway

From Århus Stiftstidende

In a match report about the game between AGF and Sønderjyske.

"There wasn't much entertainment and nice play in this game. The game became like a walk in the desert, where there were kicked more long balls than when Grimsby meets Southend on Wednesday afternoon in November at the fourth best level in England."

Yorkshire!

From the San Francisco Chronicle

"Two years ago, Thomas Turgoose was a troubled 13-year-old hanging out on street corners and yelling four-letter words at passers-by in his hometown of Grimsby in Yorkshire, England. "
