GRIMSBY Town have taken 24-year-old Italian Goalkeeper Kevin Strukelj on trial as Mike Newell continues his search for Town's new number 1. Strukelj has been playing in the Australian soccer league recently.

Mike Newell however has re-iterated that he will take his time, to make sure the right man is brought in.

Speaking in the Grimsby Telegraph today about former Mariners' loanee Nick Colgan, Newell said "I've spoken to a few keepers about coming here so it's nothing to get too excited about."

"We're making progress on the goalkeeping front but, like I've said several times, we won't rush into it.

"It is an important position and it is one that we have to get right."
