Town Sign Two Players

GRIMSBY have signed two experienced players on a permanent basis to try and lift the Mariners away from the Football League trapdoor. Aberdeen striker Tommy Wright and Swindon Town midfielder Lee Peacock have both signed 18-month deals with Town.

25-year-old Wright has played for Leicester, Barnsley, Darlington and Aberdeen. 33-year-old Peacock has played for Carlisle, Mansfield, Man City, Bristol City, Sheff Wed and Swindon.

Both players have had injury problems in recent years and have struggled to get back into their first teams after recovering. Peacock has only played for Swindon six times this season, all of which have been substitute appearances, Wright likewise has made three substitute appearances during the current campaign in the SPL.

Grim Rob Says: The two players look promising, if fit, and well done to the manager and chairman for getting them to come here. Let's hope there is a big improvement in the 'F' column as a result of these two signings, which would go a long way to ensuring that the 'Pts' column is more fruitful.
