The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Beat the Bookies: Week 25

Northampton v Aldershot - Northampton @ 2

Northampton are flying high near the top of the form table and some of Aldershot's recent results have been less than impressive (even Grimsby outclassed them the other week). This is the home banker of the weekend and my Saturday coupon NAP.

Barnet v Cheltenham - Barnet @ 3.8

Barnet did get a win last weekend before returning to their normal midweek loss but I still say for the moment whoever they are playing are the value odds.

Lincoln City v Rotherham - Lincoln City @ 3.25

Lincoln have won their last two home games and the Millers lost last week to Darlo City have improved quite a bit in recent weeks and should be good for at least a point.

Morecambe v Darlington - Darlington @ 6.5

I'm sure Steve Staunton is telling Darlington's players that the pressure if off them, everyone is expecting them to lose every week and get relegated and the signs are that its starting to work. Back Darlo every game for the rest of the season and I bet you make a profit.

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa - Palace @ 4.5

This and the Saints v Portsmouth game could be the real stories of the FA Cup this weekend after the financial problems of Pompey and Palace. Of the two I'm going for this one, purely because Villa have already got to Wembley once and their main priority has to be the league and a top 4 place. Palace's season hinges on this game as I'd expect them to steer clear of relegation.

Selected Bets

  • Northampton to win
  • Darlington to win

    The Monkey's Bet: Grimsby to win 3-1 @ 41

The tables and stats will be back as normal next week.
