Grimsby v Darlo Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 29/03/2011

MIDFIELDER Michael Leary's future in football is in doubt after he collapsed on Thursday following training. Leary was being driven home by his wife when he passed out, prompting her to take him to hospital. A possible heart condition is feared.

Leary is clearly out of contention for Tuesday's game with Darlington, and the Fishy wishes him a speedy recovery.

Another mifielder who won't be featuring is Dean Sinclair who has joined Cambridge on loan.

Town have had to recall Scott Garner from a loan spell at Alfreton as the Mariners are down to the bare bones in defence. Peter Bore (groin), Darran Kempson (hamstring), Steven Watt (hamstring) and Lee Ridley (calf) are all rated doubtful, as the intensive fixture list begins to take its toll. Dwayne Samuels or Robbie Stockdale could play at right back.

Darlington will give a late fitness check to midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson who limped off in the defeat by Altringham on Saturday. Fellow midfielder Gareth Waite and Michael Brough (both knee) are out.

  • Boston have announced they intend to sue Grimsby for compensation despite the fact that managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst had just five weeks left on their contract when they joined Grimsby last week. Boston had initially said they were happy for the move to go ahead but appear to have had second thoughts. The Pilgrims are still in contention for a play-off place for promotion to the Blue Square Premier League.
