Wrexham v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/04/2012

GRIMSBY head to second-placed Wrexham looking for a shock win to keep their faint play-off hopes alive. Town need to beat Wrexham, who they would also almost certainly have to face in the play-offs should a freak set of results occur which would lift the Mariners into the play-offs.

Wrexham look destined to finish second behind runaway leaders and have already beaten Town once this season at Blundell Park, and won the corresponding fixture 2-0 last season. The Mariners have had a poor record all season against the teams above them in the table.

Grimsby do though have a near fully-fit squad to pick from. Reserve 'keeper Kenny Arthur (hand) is the only absentee. Last week Kiernan Hughes-Mason played up front alongside Hearn as Elding was ill. Elding has recovered now but the Town bosses may decided to stick with a winning side after the Mariners saw off Gateshead last weekend,

Even if the other results do not go Town's way, Grimsby will be looking to finish on a high, and players will be looking to win new contracts for next season.
