Grimsby v Welling Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 16/08/2013

GRIMSBY head to Welling, scene of an FA Trophy win last season, expected to name an unchanged side from that which won at Gateshead in midweek. The only absentee is striker Ross Hannah, who continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Town's performance was much better against Gateshead than it was against Aldershot in the season's opener. Welling though have an excellent home record on their sloping pitch and rarely lose at home. They have played Wrexham and Cambridge in the two games so far and have not been outclassed in either. Last season they were a hard-working team who were difficult to beat and appear to have continued in the same vein this time around.

Most of the pre-season favourites are away from home in tomorrow's games. Forest Green travel to Lincoln, Kidderminster visit Braintree and Wrexham take on Tamworth. Only Luton are at home where they play Macclesfield.
