Town Sign Midfielder

MIDFIELDER Scott Brown has become Grimsby's first new summer signing. The former Southport central midfielder was near ever present last season for the Conference side and scored 4 goals from central midfield.
29-year-old Brown has previously played for a long list of clubs mainly in his native North West, including Chester, Morecambe and Fleetwood, and he also spent three years at Bristol City. Runcorn-born Brown started playing football in the Everton youth system. Last season Brown captain Southport, who finished in the bottom seven clubs but Grimsby only managed to take a point off the part-timers. Brown has played football for England at schoolboy level and also U-19.
Brown is expected to form a partnership with Town captain Craig Disley in this season's first choice central midfield pairing.
