Tough FA Trophy Draw for Grimsby

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 12/01/2015

GRIMSBY will either play Stockport or Wrexham in the FA Trophy Third Round if they overcome Gateshead in the replay between the two clubs on Wednesday night. There are guaranteed to be at least three sides from outside the Conference in the last 8.

That means whatever Conference sides make it to the Quarter Finals they have a good chance of progressing to the latter stages of the competition, the final of which is of course at Wembley.

It's a big ask for Town though as they would have to win two tricky away ties to get to the last eight, and Wednesday's replay with Gateshead coming just three days before the big game with Barnet, may see Paul Hurst rest several first choice players.

The full draw is as follows:

1 Stockport County or Wrexham v Grimsby Town or Gateshead
2 Braintree Town v Ebbsfleet United
3 Chorley or FC United Of Manchester v AFC Fylde or AFC Telford United
4 Dartford v FC Halifax Town
5 Maidenhead United or Farnborough v North Ferriby United
6 Hemel Hempstead Town v Torquay United
7 Bath City v Altrincham
8 Oxford City or Woking v Dover Athletic
