Grimsby v Bristol Rovers Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/02/2015

GRIMSBY face second placed Bristol Rovers on Saturday in the second of a trio of head-to-heads against the big guns of non-league football. Town slipped up at Forest Green last week but can't afford another defeat at home to Rovers if they are to cling on to hopes of claiming top spot.

Grimsby return to Blundell Park after four consecutive away games. They now face 3 home games in the next 4, sandwiched with the massive game at Barnet next weekend.

Jon-Paul Pittman (hamstring) and Scott Brown (knee) are still injured. Neither featured against Forest Green however so Paul Hurst will probably pick a very similar if not the same squad that he used for that away game. Scott Neilson has of course left Blundell Park this week but he was not playing regularly or even making the squad for the last few games, so there should be no immediate impact felt.

Rovers Town drew 0-0 on the opening game of the season and another low scoring game looks on the cards as both teams have good defensive records. The Pirates have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 away games, none of which they have lost.
