RESULTS on Saturday meant that Grimsby are guaranteed to finish third whatever the score in Saturday's match at Blundell Park at the weekend. The only unknown is who Town will play, but it's certain to be one of the division's big spenders.
The Mariners will face either Eastleigh or Forest Green in the play-offs with the second leg certain to at Blundell Park. Both clubs may not have Town's support but they have comparable wage biils to the Mariners.
The dates of the games will only be known when the top five places are certain, but the Blundell Park game will either be on Sunday (12:15) or Bank Holiday Monday (16:15). The first leg at Eastleigh or Forest Green will be on the Wednesday (19:45) or Thursday (19:45). All the play-off matches are televised.
First though Town have to face Aldershot on Saturday, a game potentially just two days before a play-off final. with the game not having a bearing at either end of the table it's likely Grimsby will field a fairly makeshift side.
