GRIMSBY breezed through to the Quarter Finals of the FA Trophy with a comfortable 3-0 win over Havant. It took Town some time to find the net in windy conditions but Pittman broke the deadlock on 73 minutes before Nolan made sure of the win with three minutes to go.
An injury time own goal made no difference to the result. Paul Hurst once again fielded a largely second string team once again sprinkled with first team players. The Mariners are now just another two games from another Wembley appearance, although the result was marred by late goals for Cheltenham and Forest Green which leaves the Mariners 14 points behind the leaders.
Town head to Bromley on Tuesday, weather permitting, for the rearranged league game in Kent.
