Town Sign Striker

STRIKER Charles Vernam has joined Grimsby Town on loan until the end of the season from Derby County. The 21-year-old has never played for the Rams but was at Russell Slade's former club Coventry on loan last season.
The former Scunthorpe Academy player has also had a spell on loan in Iceland for ÍBV, where he scored his only senior goal to date.
Vernam is Russell Slade's second signing of the transfer window, following the deal for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Jake Kean last week. Kean made his debut in the weekend's 2-0 defeat by Morecambe.
Grimsby have been crying out for a quality striker all season, as the summer signatures have failed to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
