Deadline Day Signings

MIDFIELDER Curtis Thompson has joined Grimsby from Cheltenham Town on a free transfer in a 1.5-year deal. The 30-year-old has spent the previous five seasons in League One with Wycombe before joining the Robins in the summer.

Thompson adds experience in midfield and has spent most of his career at a higher level. He is the first Deadline Day signing and more are expected.

The second signing of the day is left-back Denver Hume from Portsmouth, another player who has mainly played at League One level. Humstill e is 27, left-footed, and has played 3 times for Pompey this season. Hume has signed until the end of the season.

The third signing of the day is right-back Liam Smith on loan from Cheltenham, still another player who has mainly played at League One level. Smith is 27, and has played 13 times for Cheltenham this season.
