Daryl Clare has been recalled from Cheltenham Town, where he has been on loan for the last month. The 22 year old Jersey-born striker had formerly been on loan at Northampton and Lincoln City, before he joined the Robins in a last minute loan deal.
The latest reports from Cheltenham is that Clare has returned to Grimsby a few days before his first month is up due to a hamstring pull acquired during the first half of the Robins match against Hull City on Saturday.
Cheltenham have now agreed another month's loan with Manager Lawrence but whether he plays another game for them or not depends on the seriousness of the injury.
Forwards are at a premium at Blundell Park at the moment with David Nielsen having departed for Denmark, Steve Livingstone facing a one match ban, and Bradley Allen being gradually reintroduced to the squad after recovering from a serious tendonitis injury.
