After all of the recent drama surrounding the Proposed takeover of the board, isn't it about time that the Mariners fans were finally allowed a say in what happens to our beloved football club?
The crunch time has arrived and amid all of the recent speculation surrounding the situation, it would again appear that the Dinosaurs who 'run' this club, are not prepared to let it go where it belongs, into the 21st Century.
If a person comes in with a bid to take over the club, backed by people prepared to put money into the new stadium, and new players & staff, shouldn't they be helped, and backed, by the current board, who after all have supposedly got the best interests of this club, at heart?
Of course we the paying supporters don't matter do we? Well yes Mr. Ramsden, Mr.Furneaux, and any other misters who are against this proposed change, we do matter, and after seeing the results of a recent poll on The Fishy, it would appear that we all think the same thing! Mr Ramsden has not got the best interests of this club, in mind!
From the opening game at home to Crewe, I can see many fans turning on the board from the first whistle. Of course a Jevons hat trick, in a four nil win would go down brilliantly, but with a new board with a few million to spend, it could be a jevons hat trick, all of the goals set up by the new million pound foreign signing! Fans of the Mariners it is time to unite.
Rather than take out your frustrations on the players, as so many of you did last season, take it out on the board. Dinosaurs were extinct many centuries ago, why should these fossils be allowed to hold back our team, and stop us from competing with the big boys? We can do it, the team is close to being able to do it, and with our united support, and determination, to bring in money men, we can do it together!
I only have one dream that I wish to fulfil before I die! To see Grimsby Town F.C. play at Home (Blundell Park. or a new Stadium) against Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds etc, in a Premiership match. I don't care if we are relegated with only a handful of points, just let me see my beloved club reach the dizzy heights of footballs top flight. With the current people running this football club, I am going to die a very unhappy man!
