Coyne Leaves Blundell Park

Danny Coyne has finally signed for Leicester City and left Blundell Park. This is a good move for Coyne who was worried that second division football would damage his Welsh international career.
It is also a good move for Grimsby Town as Coyne was a high earner at the club and the ITV Digital fallout meant that he had become a financial burden so they will be pleased with the news.
For Coyne this has been a sorry few weeks. For so long a fans favourite he has taken some slagging off simply because of his wages with some who previously supported him, turning their backs on him now and suggesting that he was not as good as people say he was.
Two years running he was voted Player Of The Year. That says something. It doesn't seem so long ago that we were listening to the words, "Coyne saves us again!" Danny Coyne has served the club well and we should remember that.
I have been one who hoped that he would go, because of the money situation, but that has nothing to do with his playing ability or his service to the club.
Coyne has now entered the Premier league, which is what he wanted. Good luck to him. I for one, hope he gains the success he seeks!
