GRIMSBY have retained six trial players leading into Tuesday's pre-season friendly game at Scarborough. Trialists Yannick Kamanan and Amadou Konte have now departed the club, but fellow trialist Carlos Garrocho is staying for the moment.

In the game with the Seasiders, Grimsby are expected to play Scottish defender Paul Gaughan, veteran striker Clint Marcelle and former Margate striker Darren Watson

Meanwhile Slade is still persisting in his prolonged attempts to get his unnamed First Division striker, and expects to hear one way or the other by Tuesday.
