WITH nothing but pride to play for Grimsby have the chance to finish in the top half of the table and a win over local rivals Rotherham will bring us three points closer to that.

The Opposition

Overview

On the pitch The Millers were looking at a play-off place and a hope of returning to League One football next campaign until the unfortunate turn of events off the pitch. After finally succumbing to relegation last year after clawing back the ten points they were deducted last season Rotherham fans now find themselves facing the same problem. After the relegation to the bottom rung it seemed The Millers were ready to make an instant return to League One via the play-offs or maybe even automatic promotion but not only their own ground has been their downfall giving them no collateral to be able to play with against the administrators. The Administrators have now returned to Millmoor to pick again at the carcass of the Yorkshire club and another 10 point deduction lay to rest any chance of an immediate return to League One.

The Team
The troubles of the pitch are now been emulated on it with the Millers dismal run of form hitting home with nothing left to play for 6 defeats in 9 games and several hammerings too: 4-1 Rochdale and 5-1 at Morecambe. All in all the season has turned out to be a disaster for Mark Robins (left) men and after such a promising start Robins will hope to build for next year. With a strong core around the place Robins will hope financial restraints aren't too critical and that players will want to stay after differing their own wages for a number of weeks now. The young talent Rotherham possesses has been crucial in this season early resurgent and any hope of surviving and maybe even chance of returning to League One will rest on their shoulders if they decide to stay.

Key Player
Chris O’Grady. The former Leicester City striker has an impressive past naming his highlight as scoring a penalty against Internazionale which is something different at this level. Otherwise the 21-year-old has started his career brightly with an impressive resume at Leicester, Notts County Rushden and now Rotherham. O’Grady seems to have started the season in the same vein with three goals from seven and some impressive displays of maturity. The front man will be given the chance to lead the front line at the weekend after impressing in the last few games
