Clocking up the Miles

GRIMSBY fans will have to travel around 400 less miles next season if they go to every game. With four very distant teams (Exeter, Wycombe, Brentford and Gillingham) all getting promoted, it leaves League Two less orientated towards the South.

In their place have come three teams from the Midlands (Northampton, Crewe and Hereford) and one, Cheltenham, from the West Country,

Of the promoted teams one is from the South West (Torquay), the other the nearest of the newcomers in Burton Albion.

Overall the effect is to subtract 200 miles off the one way distance, and a total of 400 miles (around 7 hours) off the total travelling time for the year.
