Colgan Set to Sign

FORMER Sunderland goalkeeper Nick Colgan is set to sign today for the Mariners. The 35-year-old is to drop straight down from an understudy role in the Premiership to become Town's first choice 'keeper in League Two.

Colgan, who has played for Ireland 9 times, has had a long career with 12 clubs to date, including a loan spell at Blundell Park in 1994 when he never played a game. He never played a first team game last season for Sunderland but before that was a regular in the Championship for Barnsley. Indeed he saved the penalty at Wembley, for which he is probably best known in the game, which earned the Tykes promotion from League One.

  • Grimsby have now sold over 2,200 season tickets, eclipsing the 2,107 figure from last season. Today is the last chance to buy them at the discount price.
