Grimsby v Bath Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 06/11/2009

OLLY Lancashire is suspended for the Mariners FA Cup tie against Bath City, which on paper is Town caretaker boss Neil Woods's best chance of a win. However Rob Atkinson's long injury lay-off has come to an end at the right time for him to be a possible ready-made replacement.

Neil Woods will wait until today (Friday) before making a final decision on Atkinson.

Another played who is suspended is midfielder Peter Sweeney after picking up five bookings. Jamie Clarke is a possible replacement.

One defender who definitely won't be playing is 19-year-old Matty Bird who has gone on loan to Frickley, who currently also have midfielder Grant Normington on loan from Town.

Whoever plays alongside Linwood it will mean yet another change for Town's back four, which since the first few games of the season has changed virtually every game.

Woods's other decisions are whether to start with striker Barry Conlon, who lacks match fitness, and whether to play midfielder Nick Hegarty, who is still not fully fit.

Bath, who have quite a few players who have played at a higher level than the Blue Square South, do not have any team news in yet.
